History

The Original Rosie Rat was created in the 90's, when inventor, Jean Hausman of Daisy's Deli, was determined to make a cat toy that cats would love and was also safe and natural. She designed Rosie out of real rabbit fur, and suede leather, and the kitties of the world ENTHUSIASTICALLY APPROVED.

On April 11, 2016, husband and wife team, Dave and Carla Dellacontrada, took over production of Rosie Rat from Jean when she wanted to retire. We traveled to NH to spend time with her and learn all about Rosie, then returned to Upstate NY to begin making product.

We are so proud and happy to be the custodians of the legacy of this amazing, handmade cat toy!

Artisan Manufacturing

Dave and I create each Rosie product from our home in Fayetteville NY, cutting and assembling all of the pieces by hand. We enjoy making products, working with our hands and utilizing the highest quality natural ingredients to create our cat toys. Every toy is handmade with love. Since 2021, I have designed and created several NEW versions of Rosie, to provide more interactive play options and offer a full line of quality cat toys for kitties to enjoy!
